Winter is coming… So is chapped lips. 5 Ways to save your lips this winter.

I said brrrrrr….. It’s cold in here!

Yep, that time of the year is coming around again and the changing temps not only switch up our outfit choices but the cold can take a toll on our lips.
Chapped lips are the absolute worst right? Winter only serves to amplify the chances of our lips drying and cracking. To help save your lips this winter, we’ve put together our five top tips to keep your lips looking and feeling supple and hydrated all the way to spring.

1) A killer lip balm
We love:

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
Provides long lasting relief for chapped lips.
$4.79 – available at Priceline

Breeze Balm by Sammy Leo
Teams amazing flavour with hydration, repair and a glossy finish.
$14.95 – Available at Breeze Balm

Exfoliate your lips regularly to remove the dry, chapped layer of skin from the top of your lips to allow your lip products to repair and glide on smoothly.
Create your own home made lip scrub with a combo of coconut oil, brown sugar and honey. Combine and scrub away!

3) Stay hydrated!
Drinking plenty of water is a must for SO MANY reasons but staying well hydrated also means our skin and lips are hydrated too!

4) Avoid licking
We know, the first thing you want to do when your lips are dry and chapped is to lick them. Stay Strong and get to some lip balm STAT! Licking your lips will only increase the dryness and lead to more flaking and extra chapped lips.

5) Switch up your lip cosmetics.
If you are using an extremely drying matte lipstick or your lips simply don’t take well to the lipstick you are using, change things up. Switch to a more hydrating crème lipstick or a killer lip gloss.
